"JOBS" Movie Review

The beginning of the movie caught my eye but the ending made me lose my attention. I think it should have showed more going on with NeXt and they didn't touch Pixar. They should have shown the magazine that had the top 10 people in business and Steve Jobs was one of them. They should have shown more of John Sculley and how him and Steve Jobs became best friends. I was hoping to see Bill Gates. The movie should have shown in depth how Steve Jobs came up with the name Apple.
The movie didn't touch on how the Genius Bar, iTunes, iPhone and iPad came into play. It should have definitely shown how he took the idea of the mouse from Xerox and made it better. It should have explained when Steve Wozniak left Apple, and how he created the remote. It should have ended with Steve Jobs's death & how the world mourned and came together after this great inventor and thinker left our world changed.I recommend you watch the movie, but do keep this in mind, that you will not get to learn all the details about his life.

But I still loved Jobs !!!

The Miami Auto Show 2013

One of the things I really look forward to every year is going with my Dad to the Auto Show.
It's always a very enjoyable and cool experience to go with Dad as he knows everyone there and I get to see all the new and upcoming cars and models.

This year was no different, from the time my dad had mentioned we were going to go over the weekend, I just couldn't wait for Saturday to come.

On our way to the Auto Show, all I could think about was when we were going to get there.
My parents said they had three Lamborghini's this year and I was pretty psyched about that.
We got to the Auto show and there was bad news sitting right in front of me, there was a sign which  had a list of cars that weren't there and the bad part was..... there was Ferrari on the list...but my disappointment didn't last too long as they did have Lamborghini's  and they are faster then Ferrari's.

Then we saw a lot of cars. Just in case you don't know, there is a Hot Wheels Edition of cars and yes, I mean real cars. My brother just jumped in all the cars. See, one of the important things about cars to me is the size, I don't like those teeny tiny cars. I'm more of a Big and fast car kinda person.
The Lamborghini's looked awesome !!! Then we saw some of those old - fashioned/ antique cars.

It was totally cool to be able to see so many different manufacturer's all under one roof.

So the question is :  Was this year's Auto Show any good? Yes, of course it was.

I definitely recommend you visit the Auto Show, next year .... it's a fun and has something for everyone in the family to enjoy..... I hope this blog will make you want to go to the Auto show.

My Summer Stop at the Smokeys !!!

Last week my parents, brother & I spent a few days at  the Wilderness Hotel in Smokey Mountains. This hotel has a water park inside it. The water park had a wave pool which was where I spent most of my time. It had four water slides. One of the water slide kept turning, the other one was for four people and had small drops but the hardest of all of them had a big drop and the worst part was that when I went on it with my dad, I somehow ended up in the backward position and had no control or clue as to where I was heading and what was happening.

My brother and I had a great time.
During the evening's we explored the town and there were a lot of cool and fun things to do. My mom and I went to a mirror maze, I have to say it was really easy and they should definitely make it more challenging. We also went to a 5d Movie which was fun. It was interactive. I enjoyed eating funnel cake and couldn't get enough of it !!!

We even managed to squeeze in a pretty fun dinner show called Hatfeild and Mcoy which is about   two feuding family's.
I had an incredible experience at Magic Quest, which is an interactive world, like the world of Harry Potter . It is basically like a scavenger hunt where you are given a wand and you have to complete the given missions and you gain power. Very interesting stuff. I felt transported back in time to when there were knights, dragons & wizards.....

Hiking & taking pictures from the top of the mountains was very cool too... I would definitely recommend visiting the Smokies for a relaxing and adventurous getaway.
Can't wait until next time !!!

Inside The Life Of Steve Jobs

My fascination with Steve Jobs started when I didn't even know who he was. It was the moment I held my first I Pod Touch. Steve Jobs was one of the pioneers on the most cutting edge of technology.

Childhood

Steve Jobs was born on Febuary 24, 1955. His father loved building machines. Three years after Steve was born, the Jobes adopted a girl named Patti. Steve loved his sister but they didn't have anything in common. Steve Job's family lived in Mountain View, California, it was a beautiful area

Middle Years

In 1979, Steve Jobs went to the research center of Xerox which is located in Palo Alto, California. He was walking and watching the engineers build new computers. What's that ? Steve Jobs asked one of the engineers pointing to a small machine by a computer. When the engineer moved the gadget by the computer an arrow on the computer screen moved too. The engineer said that the device is called a Point and Click Graphical User Interface the man told him. Everytime the man moved the pointer to a picture on the screen and clicked it, it opened a program on the screen. Steve was amazed. "When are you going to sell it?" Steve asked the engineer. "We're not" said the engineer. "It's fun but theres no market for it." Steve Jobs thought differently. Steve Jobs was going to improve the device and he was going to call it the Point and Click Graphical User Interface but he would call it by it's short name : the mouse.

DID YOU KNOW !!!!

Why did they pick the name Apple ?
Well, Steve Jobs ate alot of fruit and he like apples the best !!!
He felt it was perfect just like he wanted his computers to be.

Adult Years

Steve Jobs along with his friend Steve Wozniak started Apple computers in his parents garage.
He was also the vision and person behind Pixar. He quit Apple because he didn't like to be told what to do by the board of directors. He started NeXt, a company that sells computers for collages. NeXt wasn't doing so well. Then he bought a Graphical Group. He named it Pixar. Pixar and Disney made the first full length animated film..... Toy Story. Pixar was a success. Apple wasn't doing so well and was losing money. They asked Steve to come back. So Steve returned to Apple. Over the years he created iTunes, the iPod, the iPhone, and the iPad. Steve Jobs died on October 5, 2011. Steve Jobs last words were "Oh wow. Oh wow. Oh wow."

My Perspective

Steve Jobs took peices of technology that is already out there and made them better.  He was a man who changed the way technology works. He changed my whole perspective about technology. Without Steve Jobs, the world would probably be using sticks and stones. That is how I look at it.

Can It Be Done ???

The thought of going back to school after Spring Break gives me the blues !!!!!

I propose that all schools should send an email out to the parents that reads ;
"Due to the school board's mood in being extra generous this spring there will be no school tomorrow extending Spring Break one extra day ".

They should call that day A.E.D Day, A.E.D stands for An Extra Day and there should be NO HOMEWORK the week of AED Day. I think the President should approve it.

I'm wondering how many signatures I would need to get this petition approved ... I am sure that every single student in the United States of America would sign it. Don't you agree ???

Can Your Mom Jump Over A Fence ???

It started off as a random trip to the pool and turned into a nightmare/escape.......

There's never a dull moment when my mom and I get together, we're always getting into some kind of crazy situation.... ha ha ha ha.

I came back from school and there wasn't much homework so we went to the pool. My mom forgot her key but the pool door was open so we went and swam for an hour or so. I had a really good time and the water was so cold it was perfect !!!  Then it was time to leave because we had to pick up my brother from school, but to our horror we noticed that someone had locked the main gate and we didn't have our key. Now let me explain to you why this was a "dire" situation. By the way; "dire" was my vocabulary word in school, finally used it.
Alright getting back to the situation. The entire pool area is fenced in and there was not a person in sight.... So we waited for someone to come by, but there was no action. Now what took place was something that I would have never imagined....My mom went on top of the table & jumped of the fence, and then told me to do the same thing. So I passed my mom's stuff to her and did the same thing and I did a split on the fence and then she pulled me off. We stepped over the bushes but we had to be careful because there was a cactus. We went home and we were laughing our heads off !!! When my dad got home we told him all about it. It was quite an adventure...
I felt like I was in a Bollywood Movie !!!
And as my mom always says : " When life throw's you lemons, you jump over a fence"!!!

Discovery by Chance !!!

Good Stuff !!!

This week I went to Barnes & Nobles and tried Root Beer for the first time ever !!!  It didn't taste good at first but then after I had a couple of more sips, I developed a taste for it. It was so good that I didn't want to stop drinking it !!!

I didn't get a chance to finish it because I had a brownie with it,which was really filling.

I asked my mom where Root Beer was made and she said to "google it" ... so I did and I discovered that it was invented in Philadelphia.

Root Beer invented by Charles Elmer Hires who was a Pharmacist who accidently discovered it trying to make herbal tea….

Root Beer is so good, I would recommend it !!!

Once a Century ago ....

I went to the Titanic Exhibit and learned a lot about the Titanic, the biggest ship in the world. I had a great experience !!! The Titanic was built one hundred years ago.

If you went first class then it would cost $2,500 that in today's time would be equivalent to $57,900. The third class tickets cost $40 but today it would cost $900. There were over 2,000 people on the ship, 700 people survived. Captain Edward John Smith was in charge of the Titanic's vast crew of over 900 workers. Altogether 1,316 people bought tickets to the Titanic but there was more on board.

The Titanic was going so fast that they bumped into an iceberg. Captain Smith has said, "I cannot conceive of any vital disaster happening to this vessel, modern shipbuilding has gone beyond that." Some families never saw each other again. The captain said to play music while the ship was sinking to keep everyone calm. There weren't enough lifeboats for everyone. The Titanic was going so fast that they couldn't turn when they saw the iceberg. For now the rest of the Titanic lies in a watery grave, far beneath the waves, at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean.

I learned a lot about the Titanic, after going to the Titanic Exhibit, I came home and read the book and watched the movie as well. If I were in charge of the Titanic then I would have enough lifeboats for all the people. I can't imagine being separated from my family. I feel very bad for the people who didn't survive. The sinking of the Titanic brought a lot of awareness and put a lot of safety measures in place for future sea vessels. Today millions of people enjoy taking cruises all around the world and feel comfortable & safe because of the safety measures that are now in place.
